Volleyball

Welcome to the University of Liverpool Volleyball club

Whether you are a complete beginner curious to try a new sport or an experienced player who’d like to play competitively, our volleyball club is the right place for you, full of people to share your passion with. We pride ourselves on being a diverse and welcoming club with members from all across the globe. We are very inclusive of players with different abilities and will offer you the opportunity to improve your skills wherever you start.

Competitive

We have two women’s and one men’s teams who play in the BUCS leagues. The men’s team plays in the first division and has an impressive history of success - including two British Universities and Colleges Sports (BUCS) league wins and an Athletic Union award for the men’s team of the year. The women’s first and second teams play in the second and third divisions respectively.

In order to prepare for our competitive fixtures, we train three times a week in the upstairs sports hall at the Sports and Fitness Centre.

Training times

DayTimeType
Monday 6.35-8.30pm Team
Friday 8.15-10.15pm Team
Sunday 2.10-4.10pm Open

Social sport

We hold recreational sessions once a week on Sundays for social players and beginners. Every session is always fun and will provide you the perfect opportunity to improve your skills or simply try out a new sport.

Social events

Our socials are a vital part of our club and are a great way to get to know people better outside the court. We love going for a pint after training and celebrating our wins to the fullest (and our losses too!). From Halloween to the Athletic Union (AU) dinner (and every AU night in between) we host many events to cater for all.
