Rukun Khalaf
My name is Rukun Khalaf and I am a PhD student at the University of Liverpool’s Institute for Population Health. I am an epidemiologist and I investigate the effects of Green and Blue Spaces on pregnancy. Specifically, I look to see if people living around nature influences their risk of suffering from a pregnancy complication. This could be complications experienced by the mother or by the baby.
I have a BSc in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Southampton. I also have an MSc in the Control of Infectious Diseases from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
After my Masters, I worked as a consultant epidemiologist with the World Health Organization before starting my PhD. In my spare time, I enjoy reading anything and everything!
