Year Abroad

The Year Abroad is a great opportunity to put into practice everything you’ve learned ahead of your final year. You will develop language skills and the confidence to work with people from different cultures – both fundamental to your future employability and career prospects.

The Year Abroad is compulsory for anyone studying a language at 50%, 75% or 100% and will account for 10% of your overall degree. Students who study a degree programme including a modern language will normally spend their third year of studies abroad.
