Undergraduate accommodation discount
The University and Liverpool Guild of Students offer an accommodation discount to students living in University accommodation, if they are in receipt of the bursaries listed below - you can click through the links to check eligibility criteria
Are you eligible for the accommodation discount?
We are pleased to confirm that the Accommodation Discount will be continuing for students living with us for 2026 Entry.
Students who are assessed at the start of the academic year as being eligible for a Widening Participation Award and are residing in University accommodation, will be eligible to receive one of two discounts that will be in the form of a reduction to accommodation fees:
- £1,500 - Estranged Students’ Bursary, Care Leaver's Opportunity Bursary
- £750 – Other Widening Participation awards, (including the Liverpool Bursary and Young Adult Carers’ Bursary)
Students will receive their initial fully charged accommodation fee invoice in October, and will be required to pay 1/3rd of that fee by the first instalment in October 2026 (date to be confirmed). To set up a payment plan, please click this link which will be up and running for 2026/27 academic year in due course.
Widening Participation awards are assessed during the month of October. Students will be advised if eligible for an award by early November. If residing in University accommodation, the appropriate discount outlined above will be applied as a deduction to the accommodation fee. The final two instalments will be reduced equally for the January and April instalments.
The discount is pro-rata - if you decide to leave University Accommodation, it will be adjusted to reflect the nights stayed only. It is only available for students living in University Owned Accommodation and not applicable to those living with our Private Providers.
You don't need to apply for this bursary. By submitting an online application for government grants or loans, you consent to share your information with the University. This allows our Student Fees team to assess your eligibility. You'll be notified if you're eligible to receive this bursary.

Academic Year 2026/27
1. Scope of the Guideline
1.1. These regulations apply to Undergraduate Students who are in receipt of one of the qualifying awards, listed below and who are living in University of Liverpool accommodation for the full accommodation contract of 39, 42 or 51 weeks.
1.2. Qualifying Award:
- The Liverpool Bursary
- The Care Leavers’ Opportunity Bursary
- The Estranged Students’ Bursary
- The Young Adult Carers’ Bursary
1.3. The Halls of Residence included for the Accommodation Discount are:
- Crown Place
- Dover Court
- Greenbank Student Village
- Melville Grove
- Philharmonic Court
- Tudor Close
- Vine Court.
3. Additional Information
3.1. Where a scholarship or bursary is dependent on household income and, as a result of a change in income or a reassessment of the income, the student ceases to be entitled to the Liverpool Bursary, they will be required to pay the full Accommodation Fee. If their entitlement to the scholarship or bursary reduced, the full Accommodation Discount will still be applied.
3.2. Where a student leaves University of Liverpool accommodation before the end of their contract, their eligibility for the Accommodation Discount will be reduced pro rata to the accommodation fee charged with inclusion of the 28 day notice period.
