Athletics and cross country

Welcome to the University of Liverpool Athletics and cross country club

The Athletics and cross country club welcomes athletes of all abilities. Whether you're seeking to compete or make friends, we're the club for you. The club competes in sports such as jumps, javelin, shot put as well as running.

Competitive

Our club competes in the BUCS nationals, indoor and outdoor athletics championships and cross country championships providing our athletes' plenty of opportunity to perform to the best of their ability against other universities.

Social sport

We host many cross country sessions for our members both on roads and around the many parks of Liverpool as well as train with the local athletics club Liverpool Harriers at the Wavertree park.

Social events

As well as the monthly Athletic Union (AU) night, we host a wide range of social events that are great opportunities to make friends and bring the team closer together. We also have a Strava group where our members can share their runs and compete against their teammates.

The Athletic Union

The Athletic Union (AU) is a student lead union founded in 1884. The AU consists of competitive sports clubs representing the University in British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS). The AU also provides opportunities for social sports with over 132 teams across three sports.

Being an AU member is a great way to stay active, develop management and leadership skills and meet people.

The initial cost of the AU membership is £60 and this will allow you to join one club. If you wish to join multiple clubs, the cost for each club is £24 thereafter.
