What's on in this Summer?

Children's Summer Camp

Get active with our Sports Camp at The Sports & Fitness Centre. Our Camp will be delivered by fully qualified and experienced leaders providing fun, safe and engaging multi-sports activities!  

Our sports camp is for 5-12 year olds of all abilities who would like to learn new skills and have fun whilst experiencing new challenges. 

When is our next camp?

Our next sports camp will take place during April Half Term at The Sports & Fitness Centre on the following dates  (Drop off - 8.45 am, collection 4pm) :

25th July - 26th August

Availability 

Our sports camps run for full days only (no half day options available). These prices are staff rates only, for public rate please see form below. 

Full day  - £25 
Week rate - £95

What will the camp activities be? 

Our sports camps will encourage your children to try new things, work as a team and most importantly have fun whilst getting active. We will be offering a variety of multi-sports each day will to ensure children try and experience new challenges. Sessions are fun, engaging and well organised by our leaders. Sessions will include but are not limited to Football, Basketball, badminton, swimming and many more. 

Booking your sports camp

To book a space for your child, complete the Summer Camp Booking Form 2022 for your chosen dates and call in to The Sports & Fitness Centre Reception alternatively call us on 0151-794-3307 to speak to one of our receptionists.

What will you need for our camps? 

Healthy packed lunch and snacks. 
A refillable water bottle. We do not have refrigerated storage facilities but do have water stations available for bottles to be refilled
Clothing - Tracksuit, shorts, t-shirt, swimwear, towel
Footwear - Trainers
Swimwear - Boys - Swimming trunks / Girls - Full swimming costume
Any medication your child requires.   
We provide all the equipment for the sports camps.

Free activities

  • Walk for Health - Mondays & Wednesdays 1-1:30pm & Wednesdays 5:15-5:45pm Join us on Monday & Wednesdays at 1:00pm outside the Sports & Fitness Centre where the fitness team will be waiting to meet you for your 30-minute walk! Walking is one of the easiest ways to become healthier, lose weight, increase activity levels and get your daily dose of Vitamin D! There are many benefits including increasing your heart health, reducing stress & anxiety & building stamina!   • Dodgeball Turn up & Play – Thursdays 4-6pm If you have ever wanted to try Dodgeball then come along to our free sessions from 4pm-6pm every Thursday throughout February. Dodgeball is a fun; fast paced and exciting game so bring along some friends or join in this team sport to meet new people!
  • Run for All – Sundays 10am Sefton Park, Greenbank Car Park We’re excited to launch our first Move More initiative - Run For All. Led by trained running leaders from Liverpool LMS Run For All is a weekly organised running group where you can come along and run with like-minded people, meet new friends, keep active and just have fun. Follow Liverpool LMS for weekly updates on routes and meet up locations.

NEW -Indoor Triathlon Challenge

Want to improve your cardiovascular fitness, burn some calories and challenge yourself? Try our Indoor Triathlon Challenge. Starts on 26th June and runs for 8 weeks.

 

We have three different options for you to choose from;

  • Option 1 is you can do the challenge as many times as you like within this time frame and we’ll record you best time.
  • Option 2 is you can try more than 1 distance over the 8 week period and record a time for each.
  • Option 3 is to choose a distance, do the challenge and then follow or 6 week training programme before you redo your challenge and see how you have improved.

 

The three distances you can try are;

  • Beginners- 1.5km row 5km Bike 2km Run
  • Intermediate 2km row 8km Bike 3 km Run
  • Advanced 3km Row 10km Bike 5km Run

Weekly Gym Container Classes

Bring your workout outdoors and try a variety of equipment to help you hit the highest intensity in your workouts. High intensity interval training is a fantastic way of improving your conditioning and burning a lot of calories in a short time. You’ll do short, hard, intense intervals followed by some low intensity or rest to recover. 

Challenge your fitness with battle ropes, prowler pushes, slam balls and much more

6-week online body maintenance course: £36

Our 6-week online body maintenance course will help you relieve tension and create a feeling of calm.

Each 30 minute weekly session will take you through a different part of the body and cover various stretches, breath work, trigger point work and some really useful techniques you can use to help with lots of common issues we all face such as headaches, postural problems and muscular pain.

Sessions will run on Wednesdays at 8:15-8:45am for morning courses or 1.15-1.45pm for afternoon courses . All sessions will be recorded if you are running late/not able to attend one of the weeks so you will have access to all the material for future viewing.
