Postgraduate Research Opportunities

As a Russell Group institution, the University of Liverpool provides world-class postgraduate research training – including the Engage@Liverpool programme focussing on research methods.

We can offer you expert supervision in many areas of Law and Social Justice, as well as excellent training, facilities, and support.

Our postgraduate research students are assigned to a research cluster, where they can be closely involved in our work and fully supported with regular scheduled reviews, as well as informal ad-hoc guidance and advice.

As one of our doctoral students you will also have access to the expertise and resources of the School's North West Doctoral Training Centre (NWDTC) partners: the Universities of Manchester and Lancaster.

Our work is widely applicable to the world stage, which means we have welcomed many international postgraduate research students and academic staff. This adds a valuable dimension to our research.

For more information about how we support training for MPhil, PhD, and MD programmes visit the PGR Development website.

Funding

There are funding opportunities for UK, EU and international students, via the School, the University and the ESRC-funded North West Doctoral Training Centre (NWDTC).

These include the Hodgson Scholarship, which funds three year full-time fees and helps with living expenses.

Use our Postgraduate funding search tool.
