New insights into the key legal, social and political issues

There is a strong 'without walls' ethos within the School. We pursue our work with practitioners, policy-makers and communities to ensure maximum relevance and impact.

Additionally our engage@liverpool programme supports a cross-disciplinary network of academics from all three Faculties of the University and has inspired some highly innovative research collaborations.

As part of this we contribute to several of the University's key research themes.

The School offers excellent research facilities and support. Staff members have individual offices within the recently refurbished School, as well as access to a specialist Research Support Officer for help with project administration and funding.

We organise our research into clusters that focus on the major social, legal and political issues, whilst supporting our experts in their research.

Visiting scholars

We welcome enquiries from researchers to join us for a fixed period as a visiting scholar.  The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences has a framework through which individuals can work alongside us, dependant on the nature the project.

Prospective scholars should liaise directly with their potential collaborator from one of our departments:

Law
Sociology, Social Policy & Criminology
