About the Interdisciplinary Research Group for Liverpool City Region
The Interdisciplinary Research Group for Liverpool City Region (IRG LCR) is a research and scholarship community-led initiative, supported by the Humanities and Social Science Faculty Research and Impact Team.
We are a place-based research group that collaborates with interested parties to create a fairer, stronger, cleaner Liverpool City Region where no-one is left behind.
Our members have research expertise in education, enterprise, community participation, governance, policy, law, justice, environment, water, transport, built environment, literature, language and culture.
We work accessibly and democratically, creating and sharing knowledge and insights, with the University’s commitment to social responsibility at heart. We offer a space for members to find common purpose in tackling social, cultural, economic and environmental challenges and develop innovative solutions to make the region a better place for all.
Anyone with a research/scholarly interest in the Liverpool city region is welcome to join the network, including academics from any discipline, faculty on both research and scholarship pathways, professional services colleagues, postgraduate students, representatives from other higher education institutions and other organisations, and independent researchers/scholars.
The IRG LCR team comprises:
- Chair: Dr Kerry Traynor
- Deputy Chair: Dr Han-Mei Chen
- Communications Officer: Dr Wallis Motta
- Events Officer: Dr Gemma Ahearne
