Naga Munchetty joins latest Between 2 Ovaries podcast

Published on

Journalist, BBC Presenter and Women’s Health Advocate Naga Munchetty, recently appeared on the Between 2 Ovaries podcast, talking openly and honestly with the team about her experiences with Adenomyosis, and the broader landscape of women’s health.

Between 2 Ovaries is a fortnightly women’s health podcast, co-founded and hosted by a passionate team of experts and friends from the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences and Liverpool Women’s Hospital. The hosts are Dr Nicola Tempest, Dr Alison Maclean, Lorna Salvini, and Eleanor Bristow.

The podcast was created with a clear mission: to bust the myths and tackle the misinformation surrounding women’s health. Between 2 Ovaries covers a range of topics from endometriosis and PCOS, to the Mirena coil and hormone replacement therapy (HRT).

Naga Munchetty is a familiar face on our screens. She has been a regular BBC One Breakfast presenter since 2010. She also has a Radio 5 Live programme and recently released the book, It’s Probably Nothing: Critical Conversations on the Women’s Health Crisis.

In the latest Between 2 Ovaries episode, the hosts spoke to Naga about her journey with Adenomyosis, a condition where the tissue that normally lines the uterus (endometrium) grows into the muscular wall of the uterus (myometrium).

The wide-ranging conversation covered what it’s like to be a public figure navigating private pain, the day-to-day reality of living with heavy, debilitating periods, and what actually helped when it came to treatment. Naga also reflects on her experience with doctors, how to challenge the status quo in research funding, and what still needs to change when it comes to sex ed, stigma, and support.

Since its inception in November 2024, this marks the latest success for the podcast that continues to grow in popularity.

Through the podcast, the team hopes to create a welcoming space for anyone eager to learn more about their body, navigate complex health issues, or feel more connected and empowered.

More information on the podcast can be found on the Between 2 Ovaries website.

All episodes can be found on Apple and Spotify. You can also follow the team on Instagram, for behind-the-scenes content and updates on new episodes.

As well as the podcast, the group recently created the Women’s Health Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) Group. This aims to be a collaborative space where patients, the public, and researchers come together to shape the future of women’s health research.
