When I graduated in the summer of 2019 with a BA in Modern European Languages, I had the privilege of receiving the Grace Brown Prize for Italian. I am now in the process of completing my MA in Translation and Interpreting Studies whilst working as a translator for an international retailer. I have been lucky enough to experience first-hand a number of opportunities that have come about as a result of receiving the prize and have been asked to share these here on the blog.

If you’re planning to start a degree with us this year, there are plenty of ways you can get your language and film fix over the summer whilst doing a bit of preparation for your course. The Department of Languages, Cultures and Film has put together an extensive list of recommended resources in the list below. Some of these tie in directly with the modules you’ll be studying with us, as stated where applicable in the descriptions, but most are simply suggestions for broadening your appreciation and enjoyment of languages, cultures and film.\n\nPlease don’t feel you have to purchase any resources as many will be available in the library or online when you arrive in Liverpool.
