Harris-Wellbeing Centre
The Harris Wellbeing of Women Research Centre, formerly the Harris Wellbeing Preterm Birth Centre, focuses on improving the health and wellbeing of mothers, babies, and families through methodologically rigorous research. It addresses key topics such as high-risk pregnancy, maternal health, and child development.
Based at the University of Liverpool and the Liverpool Women’s NHS Foundation Trust, the Centre was established in 2015 with a £1 million donation from Lord and Lady Harris of Peckham, who have supported the Wellbeing of Women charity for over 30 years.
The Centre collaborates with a wide range of partners, including NHS trusts, universities, and industry leaders, to drive impactful research on both local and global scales. With substantial funding from entities like the Wellcome Trust and the Gates Foundation, the Centre aims to influence policy, improve care practices, and foster knowledge exchange across diverse platforms.
