IET
The Department of Electrical Engineering and Electronics maintains strong connections with the IET by participating in multiple events organised by the IET Merseyside and Western Cheshire network. Events organised include:
- Technical visits to advanced laboratories such as STFC Daresbury Laboratory
- Lectures and seminars focusing on career development and employability, allowing students to understand the needs of industrial sectors from major employers such as National Grid and Scottish Power
In addition, students at the department participate in competitions organised by the IET focusing on personal skills development such as “Present around the World” PATW competition.
BCS
The Computer Science programmes are accredited by the British Computer Society (BCS), an organisation representing information technology and computer science professionals internationally
