About

I am a multi-methods researcher, with expertise in qualitative methods and improving trials design, conduct and inclusivity. I have worked at The University of Liverpool for over ten years, focusing on exploring and enhancing how doctors and nurses communicate with patients about trials, with the aim of improving patient understanding and trial recruitment. In recent years, my research has concentrated on making clinical trials more inclusive to patients from persistently underserved groups, particularly those experiencing socioeconomic disadvantage. From January 2026, I will be working on my NIHR Advanced Fellowship: Making clinical trials inclusive using behavioural science to improve communication (COMMCLUSIVE).
