Appointed by the Dean of the Management School, Dane is the Director of ULMS MBA Programmes and Director of Studies for the Liverpool MBA. Dane manages the strategic and operational aspects of the MBA to ensure that students have the best possible student journey whilst studying at ULMS. Dane works with a number of researchers and teaching faculty who input and deliver on our MBA. He is also responsible for the MBA's role in maintaining triple accreditation for the Management School (AACSB, AMBA, EQUIS).
Before joining University of Liverpool Management School, Dane was Academic Director of Programmes in Executive Education at Alliance Manchester Business School, University of Manchester. There he ran programmes linked to the Senior Leader Degree Apprenticeship Standard. Dane also held the Social Responsibility Lead for Executive Education, working on a pro bono programme titled Prometheus aimed at not for profit, community and social enterprise across Greater Manchester and the North of England.
Dane has also held the post of Director of MBA Apprenticeships at Manchester Metropolitan University. Whilst at MMU he led the curriculum design, development and delivery of degree apprenticeships at both an undergraduate and postgraduate level. In addition he held the Faculty Representative position to MMU Academic Board which advises the Vice-Chancellor on the University’s academic and other activities.
Dane's PhD was awarded by the University of Liverpool Management School, UK in 2014. Funded by the ESRC, the research examined the agglomeration and development of video game and life science/healthcare industries in the Liverpool City Region in collaboration with Liverpool Vision, an economic development agency. Dane has worked with local and combined authorities in Liverpool and Greater Manchester on projects examining innovation districts and creative sectors clusters. Overall his research focuses on sustainable regional and urban development with current publications examining place leadership and strategy in city regions, and inclusive and sustainable development of UK cities and regions. Outside academic Dane is a trustee of several charities and third sector organisations.
