University email
Biography
I completed an MMus in Musicology at the University of Edinburgh and began my PhD in Ethnomusicology in 2024. My research specialisms include diasporic music, with a focus on music and identity, music and migration, transnationalism, and the Chinese diaspora. My doctoral project investigates Chinese music-making in Britain and its role in shaping cultural identity, fostering community formation, and sustaining a sense of transnational belonging. My methodology integrates archival research, ethnographic fieldwork, and collaborative relationship with community music organisations to explore how musc-making mediate processes of cultural negotiation and localisation.
