Seminar - Title TBC: Professor Helen Byrne (University of Oxford)

* To be re-scheduled *

Biography: Professor Byrne is a Professor of Applied Mathematics at the University of Oxford, where her work considers mathematical models to describe biomedical systems.

Professor Byrne's research focuses on the development and analysis of mathematical and computational models that describe biomedical systems, with particular application to the growth and treatment of solid tumours, wound healing and tissue engineering. Her aims in studying such models are two-fold: to identify the mechanisms responsible for observed biomedical phenomena and to abstract from the resulting mathematical models novel features that merit theoretical investigation.

She was awarded the 2019 Society for Mathematical Biology Leah Edelstein-Keshet Prize.
