    Choose this course if

    You have no knowledge of the language at all.

    Equivalent language level (CEFR)

    • Complete beginners - A1.1

    GRMN902 - German Beginners 2

    To take this module, you need to have one of the following:

    • Completed German Stage 1
    • Have completed approximately 40 hours of study equivalent to A1 CEFR
    • Have completed one year of German at school
    • The ability to have a very basic conversation in German about yourself (work, studies, hobbies) asking basic questions and understanding the answers.

    • Beginners - A2.2

    GRMN903 - German Elementary 3

    Choose this course if

    You have studied the language formally for one course only - approximately 60 hours, or up to GCSE. 

    Equivalent Language Level (CEFR)

    • Intermediate (GCSE equivalent) - A2.1

    • Thursday 3 October

    Start Time:

    • 6-8pm

    GRMN904 - German Elementary 4

    To take this module, you need to have one of the following:

    • Completed GRMN903
    • Have completed approximately 50 hours of study equivalent to A1 CEFR
    • Have completed one year of German at school
    • The ability to have a conversation in German about yourself (work, studies, hobbies) asking basic questions and understanding the answers.

    Equivalent Language Level (CEFR)

    • Intermediate (GCSE equivalent) - A2.2

    • Wednesday 2 October

    • 6-8pm

    GRMN905 – German Intermediate 5

    Choose this module if:

    You have studied the language formally up to AS or A-Level – at least 120 hours.

    Equivalent language level:

    • Advanced (AS level equivalent) – B1.1
    • 3-4 hours per week

    GRMN906 – German Intermediate 6

    To take this module, you need to have one of the following:

    • Completed German Stage 5
    • An A-Level in German with at least a B grade
    • Equivalent level B1 in the CEFR

    • Advanced (A-Level) - B1.2

    GRMN907 – German Advanced 7

    To take this module, you need to have one of the following:

    • Completed German Stage 6
