Welcome to the School of Histories, Languages and Cultures: The Essentials
Transitioning to university can be both challenging and exciting. This session will cover essential resources and expectations for students, beginning with a welcome talk from the Dean of School and an introduction to key staff. You'll learn about student support, the student voice, careers, and employability opportunities, as well as managing time effectively, taking ownership of your work, and understanding available support. This session is designed to equip you with the knowledge and tools for a smooth and successful transition to university life.
This session is for new Irish Studies, LCF and Politics undergraduate students, and Education and LCF postgraduate students studying a programme within the School of Histories, Languages and Cultures.

Masters of Research – HLC School Programme Induction
The session will introduce students to several aspects of the MRes programmes across the School of Histories, Languages and Cultures, including:
- The various kinds of support the School will make available for students.
- Some key aspects of the structure and the running of the MRes programmes.
- MRes students' status as PGT students and their access to resources.

Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences PGT Welcome Talk
This session will provide a welcome from the Vice Chancellor and Director of Student Experience here at the University of Liverpool. Hear about the different things you can get involved in during your time here, and the services available to you across the University.

LCF PGT Programme Inductions
This session will introduce you to your degree programme, module choices, support and the key things you need to know at the start of your studies.
This session is compulsory for all students studying the MA in Chinese-English Translation and Interpreting, the MA in Translation and the MA in Film Studies.
MA Translation students should check the My Liverpool App for details of Open Languages and Language Taster sessions.
