D’Ito at the Opera

Join us for an evening of Opera with soprano Sachika Ito and Guitarist Davide Sciacca

The duo offers a show that combines music and theatre, thanks to the remarkable performing skills of soprano Sachika Ito, who is accustomed to interacting with the audience and operating between the stage and the audience. They perform 19th-century operatic and chamber music repertoire, as well as contemporary works by Sicilian composers including Andrea Amici (whose works were performed in the presence of the British Royal Family in 2017), Joe Schittino, Francesco Pennisi, and others.  

The duo will also present some recently rediscovered arrangements of Vincenzo Bellini arias translated into English and published in the United States in the second half of the 19th century. 

The artists: Sachika Ito performs worldwide and teaches at the Musical Institute Vinci in Caltagirone. Davide Sciacca combines international concert and conference activities with lecturing at the Bellini Conservatoire in Caltanissetta, Sicily.
