A film screening
Thursday 13th November, 12.00 - 14.00pm
Lecture Theatre 1, Rendall Building, University of Liverpool
The film Mamífera was one of the great revelations of Catalan/Spanish cinema in 2024, featuring outstanding performances by Maria Rodríguez Soto and Enric Auquer, two of the most highly regarded actors of recent years.
Shot in Catalan language, the film explores the concept of motherhood. The protagonist, Lola, enjoys a happy life with her partner, Bruno, until an unexpected pregnancy turns her world upside down.
Students can watch the film in the original language with English subtitles. Those interested can also join a Q&A with the film's director, Liliana Torres, and producer, Carla Sospedra. This Q&A will take place online on Thursday 27 November. If you would like to receive the Zoom link, please send an email to Pol Masdeu Cañellas (pmasdeu@liverpool.ac.uk).
This event has been made possible thanks to the support of the Institut Ramon Llull.
*This film includes discussions about sensitive topics, such as motherhood, pregnancy, and abortion.
