Mónica Yanguas Muñoz (Universidad Carlos III de Madrid; visiting researcher in IBLAS and History) invites us to rethink Spain’s global empire under Charles I (Emperor Charles V). Tracing the entangled histories of diplomacy, colonisation, cultural exchange, and religious conflict, this talk reveals how imperial Spain helped shape the early modern era while offering fresh insight into its enduring global legacies.
