Irish Language Classes at ICC, Hammersmith
The Institute of Irish Studies is delighted to offer Irish Language classes for the community in conjunction with the Irish Cultural Centre, Hammersmith.
Our next classes are due to start September 2026, and we anticipate opening registration in early August 2026. Please check back here from mid July 2026 onwards for more information.
Please note that we do not operate a waiting list and enrolment will be first come first served.

Classes subject to change and are for indicative purposes only.
Please note that each courses is 30 weeks in duration, with classes running from September to June, and the course fee in 2025/26 is £190 for the full course.
As the courses are subsidised by The Department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht (An Roinn Forbartha Tuaithe, Pobail agus Gaeltachta) no further concessions will be available.
Course level guidance
If you are unsure of your current level of Irish, you may wish to take the test offered by Teastas Eorpach na Gaeilge (TEG) at https://secure.teg.ie/quiz/ , which will take about 1 hour to complete. Please use the table below as a guide as to which level course to choose. Please note that this is guidance only.

Teastas Eorpach na Gaeilge (TEG) is administered by the Centre for Irish Language at Maynooth University and is the first and only system of certification for adult learners of Irish. It is a comprehensive, graded system that allows learners to undertake examinations at five different levels of proficiency. The various levels in TEG are broadly based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching and Assessment (Council of Europe, 2001).
