Background

My name is Zahid Abdullrahman Ymani, I am a PhD student at the University of Liverpool, Institute of Infection, Veterinary and Ecological Sciences. I earned my Bachelor degree in Clinical Laboratory Science at the Umm Al-Quraa University, Saudi Arabia. This was followed by an MSc degree in Infection Biology at the University of Glasgow, UK, on a research project entitled “Identification of Leishmania Antigens”.

Research Project

Currently, I am undertaking a PhD studentship in Infection and Immunity, specifically aimed at the identification of novel antimicrobial potentiating agents against chronic Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection. In my project, the emphasis is placed on adjuvant therapies contributing towards clearing P. aeruginosa infection in cystic fibrosis patients.
