PhD studentships in a thriving research community

Funded PhD positions will be highlighted here and also advertised on www.findaphd.com. We are also happy to work with self-funded students, those in receipt of scholarships or those who wish to apply for fellowships. We have the experience and a research infra-structure to support successful PhD studentships, eighteen PhD students have gone through the lab or are currently doing their PhDs. The Department of Infection Biology and the Institute of Infection and Global Health is cross cutting in its research on veterinary and human pathogens and not only focuses on virology, but wider diseases, immune-biology and epidemiology.

Currently we have a joint fully funded PhD studentship with Public Health England to work on Ebola virus available and to start in October 2018.

Post-doctoral researchers and fellows

If you are interested in a PDRA position in the laboratory then please email us your CV and a cover letter. PDRA positions, when available, will be advertised on Nature Jobs. Again if you are interested in a fellowship position we can work with you in the application and to gain independence in a suitable research area.

Visiting workers

We are delighted to host visiting workers for collaborative research opportunities. There is a range of languages spoken in the laboratory, English is used for day-to-day use, but we also have fluent Chinese (Mandarin), Arabic, Spanish, Hungarian, Turkish and French speakers.
