I joined the Liverpool School of Architecture in April 2010. I've obtained my undergraduate and master's degrees from Southeast University, China, and the University of Bath respectively. My PhD was on urban morphology and Chinese urban design from the University of Strathclyde (2005-9). I am the lead of the Urban Form and Social Space research group in Architecture and the Associate Editor of the Journal of Urban Management (Elsevier). I am the Director of the European Chapter of the International Association of China Planning (IACP) and a key member of the International Seminar on Urban Form (ISUF). I am the co-founder and convenor of the 'Urban Morphology and Representation Research Network' under International Association of People-Environment Studies (IAPS).
