Biodiversity

Learn about our grounds and some of the projects that contribute to our biodiversity. Discover how you can help to protect and preserve the biodiversity at the University.

The University of Liverpool grounds support a wide variety of habitats. Our ecological diversity includes: built urban environments, amenity land, woodlands, pastures, agricultural land, formally landscaped grounds and a botanic garden.

Our Biodiversity Plan, which builds upon the commitments in our Sustainability Strategy and Environmental Policy, sets out our approach to protecting and enhancing green spaces on campus for the benefit of our students, staff and the wider local community as well as tackling the impacts on biodiversity throughout our supply chain.
