Chemistry of World Health

The Chemistry of World Health cluster focuses on medicinal chemistry, materials chemistry for nanomedicines, molecular modelling, antimicrobial surfaces research, and bio-organic chemistry with on-campus collaborations with the Life Sciences, Faculty of Health and Life Sciences and the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine.

We have established two new centres to tackle challenges relevant to the industry:

• The Open Innovation Hub for Antimicrobial Surfaces, a multi-disciplinary initiative to develop new technologies to tackle biofilms and anti-microbial resistance
• The Centre of Excellence for Long Acting Therapeutics is a knowledge hub and dedicated laboratory to accelerate product development.
