Teaching
I am a fellow of the higher education academy (FHEA) with over 20 years experience in learning and teaching roles, including:
1. Undergraduates: Research & Scholarship (RS2 & RS3) project supervision and assessment for medical students and serving as an academic advisor. Former Clinical Director for the LOCAS finals examinations (Year 4), leading on the original development and implementation of the clinical exam. 'Bedside' clinical teaching within my specialty.
2. Postgraduates: Member of teaching faculty for MSc in Health Data Science, including leadership of the 'Actionable Healthcare Data Analytics' module.
3. Clinical Practice: Teaching of clinical skills within my medical specialty, including NHS role as a colonoscopy trainer.
4. International Medical Graduates: Currently developing new CPD offerings for overseas medical graduates, starting with the creation of Advanced International Clinical Fellowships in hepatology and gastroenterology in collaboration with Dr Omar Elshaarawy (Liverpool University Hospitals Group).
