Keith Bodger is a consultant gastroenterologist and a Health Outcomes researcher based in the department of Health Data Science. His current clinical practice is focused on Inflammatory Bowel Disease and he has served on national IBD audit committees and is an active member of the clinical steering group for the National IBD Registry. His research focuses on measuring real-world health outcomes in gastroenterology, including the development of new measures and finding better ways to interrogate routinely-collected data. He has a particular interest in Patient Reported Outcome Measures, having developed a simple tool for people living with IBD - the IBD-Control Questionnaire - which has gained international recognition and found applications in routine clinical care, quality improvement and research. He teaches on postgraduate programmes in Health Data Science, co-leading a module on evaluation of healthcare interventions and Learning Healthcare systems. His past medical education roles include leading the original development of Liverpool's LOCAS Clinical Finals Examination.
