About
I am a psychologist by background and my research focusses primarily on applying behaviour science principles to better understand how to improve the quality of the health and care services provided to people who have experienced psychological trauma (as adults or children) and/or self-harm/suicidal behaviours and how to boost people’s personal coping/problem solving strategies. I have a particular interest in:
(i) understanding the aetiology and prevention of suicide and related behaviours in people with adverse childhood experiences, and severe mental health issues (depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD);
(ii) investigating the mechanisms underlying resilience acts in people with childhood trauma and/or mental health problems and;
(iii) developing and evaluating low-intensity interventions to improve the self-management and service management of vulnerable people with mental health conditions (depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD, or history of self-harm) especially during precarious points of the care pathway (e.g., while placed in waiting lists for treatment or during transitions of care).
