Opening times

Chistmas and New Year Opening: Ness Botanic Gardens will close to both Members and visitors at 4pm on Sunday 21 December 2025. The Gardens will re-open to all at 10.00am on Saturday 3 January 2026. We look forward to seeing you all back at Ness Botanic Gardens in the New Year. We wish you all a very happy Christmas.

Winter opening times

The winter opening times are effective until 1 March 2026.

Area	Opening times
Gardens	Open from 10am. Last admissions at 4pm.
Botanic Kitchen café	9.30am-4pm. Last orders for hot food at 2.30pm. Last orders for drinks and cakes at 3.30pm.
Gift shop	10am-4.30pm.
Dovecote Nurseries	10am-4.30pm.
Members' gate	Open from 4pm.  Member evening access ends for winter on 25 October.

Planned closures

We're always working to improve the gardens, so occasionally we may have to close some features. Please check back before you visit.

Bad weather closures

The gardens will be closed (to staff, visitors and members) if wind speeds are forecast to be around 50 miles per hour or above (factors such as wind direction, heavy rain/snow, etc. will affect this guideline), due to the large number of trees on site.

The gardens may also have to close on occasion due to snow, ice or excessively high temperatures.
