Opening times

We are now on our summer hours for 2026. Last entrance to the gardens is 4.30pm, once in you can stay until dusk and enjoy the long summer evenings. Members can access the gardens after 4.30pm by scanning your membership card at the automatic gate. There are toilets in the gardens but the visitor centre closes at 5pm. We look forward to seeing you all.

Summer opening times 2026

The summer opening times are effective until 31 October 2026.

Gardens	Open from 10am. Last admissions at 4.30pm.
Botanic Kitchen café	9.30am-4.30pm. Last orders for hot food at 3.30pm. Last orders for drinks and cakes at 4.30pm.
Gift shop	10am-4.45pm.
Dovecote Nurseries	10am-4.45pm.
Members' gate	Open from 4.30pm.  Exclusive member evening access for British Summer Time (29 March-24 October).

Planned closures

We're always working to improve the gardens, so occasionally we may have to close some features. Please check back before you visit.

Bad weather closures

The gardens will be closed (to staff, visitors and members) if wind speeds are forecast to be around 50 miles per hour or above (factors such as wind direction, heavy rain/snow, etc. will affect this guideline), due to the large number of trees on site.

The gardens may also have to close on occasion due to snow, ice or excessively high temperatures.
