Equine Metabolic Clinics
The Philip Leverhulme Equine hospital runs metabolic and obesity clinics to identify, treat and monitor horses and ponies with problems that make them prone to laminitis including equine metabolic syndrome and equine Cushing's disease.
The clinic is run by a team that has wide-ranging professional interests relating to laminitis, including orthopaedics, laminitic pain, obesity and endocrine disease. Many are involved in research studies with the University of Liverpool. Professor Cathy McGowan heads this incredibly useful service.
