Teaching

Renaissance literature and its background; Shakespeare (including adaptations and Shakespeare on film); Development of English prose fiction. In particular: romance and Renaissance English fiction (including Spenser, Sidney, John Lyly, Robert Greene, Thomas Nashe, Lady Mary Wroth); women's writing from the sixteenth to the early eighteenth century (In particular: Mary Sidney Herbert, Mary Wroth and Aemilia Lanyer, to Margaret Cavendish, Delarivière Manley and Eliza Heywood); Renaissance travel literature; Early East-West encounters; eighteenth century Orientalism.
