IUTAM Diversity Symposium - Women in Fluid Dynamics: Role Models, Resilience, and Research Paths
This one-day Symposium will highlight and support the careers of women in fluids, with a focus on women’s development and resilience to enhance career progression and foster international scientific connections. Our aim is to promote female role models in Fluid Dynamics and to establish an international network.
Save the date: Friday 11 September 2026, University of Liverpool

Invited talks will feature international senior and mid-career female speakers while maintaining a broad and accessible scientific scope for a diverse fluid dynamics audience.
A series of interactive diversity conversations will facilitate personal development and networking. Scientific committee members and symposium organisers will chair parallel roundtable sessions on mid-career progression, work-life balance, career paths, and intersectional diversity. Through networking with role models and peers, attendees will strengthen their confidence and gain resilience and leadership skills.
