‌School of Engineering wins new ‘Centre for Doctoral Training in Additive Manufacturing and 3D Printing’

Concept bionic arm courtesy of Prof Richard Hague of University of NottinghamThe University of Liverpool  with 3 partners, Nottingham, Newcastle and Loughborough have won a prestigious Centre for Doctoral Training grant worth £5M.  Working with over 15 industrial partners it will result in over 70 funded PhD students over the next five years 10 of whom will be based in the research labs here at the School of Engineering working on next generation 3D printing techniques.

The Liverpool Lead Dr Chris Sutcliffe said “This is a fantastic opportunity for our School and Liverpool as Additive manufacturing is seen by many as a key high-value manufacturing method for future products.  To be at the forefront of this world-class research is a fantastic opportunity for us”
