Eco Fiction: Reimagining the Future
2 sessions on campus on Saturday 8 November and Saturday 6 December, 11am-4pm.
Overview
This course will look at imagining both utopian and dystopian environmental futures. It will guide you in how to write about our present and near-future reality in a way that engages and connects readers to challenges facing humanity and non-human species. The course would suit both beginners and more experienced writers who have an interest in environment and writing fiction.
By attending this course, you'll also have the chance to see your work published in a new anthology of writing produced by Continuing Education writing students at The University of Liverpool.

Course lecturer
Dr Bernadette McBride is an English writer, director, and creative practitioner of Irish heritage who lives and works in Liverpool. She won an award for the 'Biggest Impact on the City of Liverpool' in 2019, she was shortlisted for the Manchester Fiction Prize in 2020, and in 2022 she was shortlisted for 'The best nature-based social prescribing project' for her creative practitioner and social advocacy work.
