Don’t miss our flagship event of Sustainability Week 2025 – the Sustainability Fair!

Bringing together all three pillars of the University of Liverpool’s new Sustainability Strategy, this exciting, interactive fair brings together a wide range of research, projects, initiatives, and key achievements from across the University, all focused on sustainability.

With around 20 stalls showcasing the incredible work being done by various departments, institutes, and student-led initiatives, this is your chance to engage directly with those driving sustainability at the University of Liverpool. Confirmed stalls include:

• The Sustainability Team – Meet the team working to make the University more sustainable and discover the projects driving sustainability across campus.
• Campus Food & Drink – Enjoy giveaways of Fairtrade and B-corp food and drink products. 
• Centre for Sustainable Business – Chat with researchers helping businesses and policymakers develop real solutions to the climate crisis and social justice challenges.
• Heseltine Institute – Explore cutting-edge research on building sustainable, inclusive cities and thriving city regions.
• Heritage Institute – Learn how researchers are tackling global inequalities and championing human rights through groundbreaking work.
• School of Architecture – Discover the Zero Carbon research initiative and how it's shaping the future of sustainable design.
• The Low Carbon Eco-Innovatory (LCEI) – Find out how this initiative is helping businesses achieve their Net Zero ambitions with innovative solutions.
• Sustainable IT Services – Uncover the hidden environmental costs of digital technology, from cloud storage and server pollution to energy-intensive processing.
• Sustainable Procurement – Learn how we’re ensuring ethical and eco-friendly procurement through initiatives like NETpositive Futures, Fairtrade, and the Tuco framework.
• Hedgehog Friendly Campus – Meet the team behind our gold-accredited Hedgehog-friendly campus scheme and discover how we're improving habitats for local wildlife.
• LEAF (Laboratory Efficiency Assessment Framework) – Explore how you can boost the sustainability and efficiency of labs, technical workspaces, workshops, studios, and galleries.
• Libraries and Museums – Hear how you can experiment with exciting new technologies at the Makerspace in Sydney Jones Library—innovation meets sustainability
• Sustainability in Action – Dive into our online course on the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and discover how to apply them in everyday life.
• Materials Discovery Frontier – Meet the team pioneering digital materials design to fast-track solutions for net zero challenges.
• Net Zero Maritime Energy Solutions – Engage with leading academics driving interdisciplinary research to tackle critical net zero challenges in the North West, the UK, and beyond.
• Liverpool Zero Waste Community – Reduce waste and grab some free surplus food that’s been rescued and redistributed.
• Sustainability Societies – Connect with student-led societies focused on sustainability and discover how you can get involved.
