About

I completed my doctorate in cardiac physiology at the University of Oxford then moved to a postdoctoral position at the University of Leicester to study the role of ion channels in regulating blood vessel contractility. While at Leicester I was awarded a Royal Society University Research Fellowship to investigate the formation of signalling hubs focussed around ion channel proteins. I am currently a member of the Biochemistry Department at Liverpool where I teach on a number of undergraduate degree programmes and have continued my research into the cellular mechanisms that regulate contractility of blood vessel smooth muscle and control blood pressure/flow.
