Young Carers

The University of Liverpool is committed to providing support for Young Carers throughout their higher education journey, from application to succeeding in your studies.

We offer a comprehensive package of support for our young carers, including support with the admissions process, bespoke campus visits to help you discover more about your course and the university prior to entry and priority access to University owned accommodation. During your studies, there is a huge amount of additional support available for young carers, including: 

  • Young Carers Bursary; £1,000 per year, criteria applies
  • Priority access to the Liverpool Advocate job role
  • Wrap around support throughout undergraduate studies via our LiverpoolPlus programme
  • Point of contact to troubleshoot any problems or issues that you may face during your studies at Liverpool.

Student Life (student services) also offer a dedicated member of staff to support students with caring responsibilities, to provide advice on the impact of caring responsibilities on academic studies or to help agree a support plan and share this with relevant departments.
