Personal Statement

Matthew Kearney is the author of The Social Order of Collective Action: The Wisconsin Uprising of 2011 (Rowman & Littlefield) about the massive protest that inspired the Occupy Movement. His articles have appeared in Social Forces and Theory and Society, among other journals, and his work has been translated into German and Chinese. In his spare time, he co-hosts Extinction Rebellion Radio, covering the climate crisis for an all-listener supported radio network in the United States. He has taught at Harvard University, Emerson College, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
