About

Personal Statement

I am currently working on a project which is part of the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration North West Coast portfolio of research and funded by the UKRI ESRC Rapid COVID-19 call. The aim of the project is to explore how we can facilitate and improve doing patient public involvement and engagement (PPIE) remotely, working with people without face-to-face contact, in health and social care research. This is a mixed-methods study with surveys, qualitative interviews, and a discrete choice experiment. We will produce an analysis of how remote working in PPIE is affected by socioeconomic and health inequalities, make recommendations for improving practice and develop training packages. Prior to joining Liverpool, I worked at Keele University for an NIHR SPCR funded study ‘Optimise – HFpEF’, a collaborative, multi-site project involving the Universities of Cambridge, Oxford, Manchester, and Keele. Before that, I also worked as a qualitative health research assistant in two different universities: Bournemouth University and the University of Portsmouth. I completed my Honours (4 years) and Masters in Sociology at the University of Rajshahi, after which I attained an MA in Health and Social Care at Middlesex University London. In 2017, I completed a PhD in dementia with a thesis 'understanding dementia among the Bangladeshi community in England' at the University of Portsmouth.
