Personal Statement

Academic Background:
I studied both a BSc Psychology with Counselling and MSc Applied Social and Political Psychology at Keele University. However, having experiences in Unity and C# led me to combine my interests of programming and Psychology to pursue a PhD in Virtual Reality Psychology here at the University of Liverpool

Role at the University:
As a Doctoral Academic Teacher (demonstrator) my time is split into both teaching as well as pursuing my PhD

Academic duties:
In addition to being an Academic Advisor, my primary role is to teach and demonstrate to 1st and 2nd year undergraduate students how to perform various statistical analysis using SPSS and R.

PhD Area:
My research focuses on the uses that virtual reality can have on improving learning outcomes (doing a set task better). More specifically, my thesis investigates whether virtual reality can be used to enhance driving related learning outcomes through the manipulation of various sensory stimuli; primarily visual, auditory and tactile (touch)
