Personal Statement
I qualified as an Orthoptist in 2007 from the University of Sheffield. I started working for the University of Liverpool as a Research Assistant in 2014 and am currently a Stroke Association Post-Doctoral Fellow.
I am the academic lead for the BIOS Stroke and Neuro Rehab Clinical Advisory Group, chair for the Cheshire and Merseyside Council of AHP Research (CAHPR) Hub and a Cochrane Eyes and Vision editor.
My particular research interests include stroke, acquired brain injury and quality of life measurement. I am currently the Chief Investigator for the Impact of Visual Impairment after Stroke II (IVIS II) study. Most recent research projects I have been involved in include Impact of Visual Impairment after Stroke (IVIS) study, Future Hospital Programme evaluation and as principal investigator for the Paramedic Vision Evaluation (PAVE) study and the Visual Impairment Screening Assessment (VISA) study. I am involved in international collaborations including the Norwegian Vision In Stroke (NorVIS) network.
