About

Personal Statement

I am a Research Associate in Health Data Analysis within the Department of Public Health, Policy & Systems with expertise in quantitative geography methods, big data analysis and geocomputation applied in population studies.
Currently, I am working on the development of linked neighbourhood datasets using large datasets including Hospital Episode Statistics; NHS open data, enabling the tracking of the determinants of health and health outcomes within neighbourhoods along with novel neighbourhood level contextual indicators, funded by the NIHR ARC North West Coast.
Also, I am involved in the Communities in Control project where we investigate longer-term health and social impacts of the Big Local approach to community engagement at the population health level. Product of this work is the development of the Small Area Mental Health Index available via the PLDR data resource.
My previous research has focused on the implementation of the Access to Healthy Assets and Hazards index which is a composite index for measuring the accessibility to health-related features in neighbourhoods of Great Britain, funded by the ESRC (CDRC) and CLAHRC NWC.
