Professional activities
I achieved my ACCA qualification before beginning my teaching career, and was later awarded my fellowship. I have since been involved in an examiner capacity for another of the major accounting bodies, as well as marking professional examinations - this is particularly useful to inform the standards that I employ in both exam-writing and in the marking of in-house university exams, since many of our students progress to external professional examinations, after graduation.
As well as promoting personal development, academic excellence is also a key part of our focus at the University of Liverpool. I play an active role on the online academic integrity committee and helping ensure the board exam process is run in a professional manner, both on and off-campus.
I enjoy building and sharing knowledge, such as presenting panel discussions at symposiums and conferences.
