Research Overview

Dane's PhD was awarded by the University of Liverpool Management School, UK in 2014. Funded by the ESRC, the research examined the agglomeration and development of video game and life science/healthcare industries in the Liverpool City Region in collaboration with Liverpool Vision, an economic development agency.

Building on this work, Dane has developed relationships and completed consultancy work with local and combined authorities in Liverpool and Greater Manchester, focusing on projects examining innovation districts and creative sectors clusters.

Overall his research focuses on sustainable regional and urban development with current publications examining place leadership and strategy in city regions, and inclusive and sustainable development of UK cities and regions. Outside academic Dane is a trustee of several charities and third sector organisations.
