Way with Words: Screenwriting with Heidi Thomas

Catch-up

Award-winning Heidi Thomas (BA Hons English Language and Literature 1983, Hon LittD 2019) is one of the UK’s leading dramatists and her acclaimed career in stage, film and television drama spans 30 years. Referencing her work on Cranford, Little Women, I Capture The Castle and the hit series Call the Midwife, Heidi will be discussing the role of original creativity in the adaptation of classic and popular fiction and explores the demands of drama and ideas of fidelity to the text.

We caught up with Heidi Thomas while she was receiving her honorary degree from the University last year, to find out what she loves most about Liverpool.
