Mrs Deborah Tyfield

Personal Statement

Deborah joined the Law Clinic in July 2016 and teaches on the Clinical Legal Skills module and offers extra curricular projects to students in her specialist area.

Deborah is a practising solicitor and has worked in both local government and private practice. Deborah is a public law practitioner and she specializes in Special Educational Needs and social care for children.

As a solicitor in local government Deborah provided legal advice & representation to social work teams, management teams and elected officials in respect of duties under the Human Rights Act, community care & mental health legislation and the Children Act.

In private practice Deborah represented asylum seekers, their families and others subject to immigration control at all stages of their cases.

Deborah has an LLM in International Law from University of Bristol.
