Miss Louise Breen BVSc MRCVS

Personal Statement

Louise is from County Tyrone and graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2019. Upon graduating she worked in equine first opinion practice, prior to beginning a rotating internship with a surgery bias at Fethard Equine Hospital in December 2019. Louise then joined Rossdales Veterinary Surgeons in Newmarket, where she completed an internship solely focused on orthopaedics and diagnostic imaging. She returned to Leahurst in 2022 as a resident in Equine Surgery. Her clinical interests include the poorly performing equine athlete and racing, and she enjoys all aspects of surgery with a particular interest in colic surgery and fracture repair. As well as the ECVS Diploma, Louise is working towards ISELP (International Society of Equine Locomotor Pathology) certification.

Outside of work Louise enjoys horse racing, playing hockey and travelling when time allows.
